SnapShot: Receptor Dynamics at Plastic Synapses
نویسندگان
چکیده
The dynamic synapse is represented by the constant mobility and exchange of components at both the cell surface and at intracellular sites. This includes thermally powered Brownian diffusion movement, followed by reversible trapping through receptor-scaffold interactions and active transport of cargo vesicles through cytoskeletal motors.

Cytoskeleton regulation of glycine receptor number at synapses and diffusion in the plasma membrane.
Lateral diffusion of neurotransmitter receptors in and out of synapses has been postulated as a core mechanism for rapid changes in receptor number at synapses during plastic processes. In this study, we have used single particle tracking to investigate how changes in glycine receptor (GlyR) lateral diffusion properties might account for changes in receptor number at synapses after disruption o...
متن کاملDopaminergic modulation of the hippocampal neuropil proteome identified by bioorthogonal noncanonical amino acid tagging (BONCAT).
Local protein synthesis and its activity-dependent modulation via dopamine receptor stimulation play an important role in synaptic plasticity - allowing synapses to respond dynamically to changes in their activity patterns. We describe here the metabolic labeling, enrichment, and MS-based identification of candidate proteins specifically translated in intact hippocampal neuropil sections upon t...
متن کاملGyration Radius and Energy Study at Different Temperatures for Acetylcholine Receptor Protein in Gas Phase by Monte Carlo, Molecular and Langevin Dynamics Simulations
The determination of gyration radius is a strong research for configuration of a Macromolecule. Italso reflects molecular compactness shape. In this work, to characterize the behavior of theprotein, we observe quantities such as the radius of gyration and the average energy. We studiedthe changes of these factors as a function of temperature for Acetylcholine receptor protein in gasphase with n...
متن کاملSelf-organization of microcircuits in networks of neurons with plastic synapses
The microcircuit structure of cortical networks features an abundance of certain wiring motifs, especially compared to simple random-network models. This structure is not hardwired, but rather emerges from activity-dependent plasticity rules that govern the synaptic connections between cells. A majority of theoretical studies of plastic networks consider the effect of external training on shapi...
متن کاملA Snapshot into the Work of an On-call Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery Resident
MateRialS and MethOdS A prospective study of all patients requiring a plastic surgery, hand surgery, or oral surgery consult performed by the on-call plastic and reconstructive resident in the 5-month time period from April 1 to September 1, 2015. Consults were compiled into a database including type of consult, ER versus floor consult, hospital the consult was performed at, if a procedure was ...
